Winter Jumpers
After a busy summer and really well attended Open Day we now have the first of the Nation Hunt winter jumpers springing into action at Carlisle tomorrow.
Tomorrow at Carlisle we take Mah mate Bob and Jack Riddel in the 2 mile 3 novice hurdle.
Both these horses are very backwards and will need to be educated. Bob was with us last season and was recovering from a jaw problem, this year he seems much happier and we hope the penny will begin to drop.
Jack is 10 and never raced before, however he has been race fit twice but unfortunately an issue has prevented his run both times. He is a strapping big black horse who has had the time to mature and once he gets into the swing of things over hurdles will head chasing.
Classical Milano is going in the handicap chase over 3 miles, he should enjoy the lighter weight on his back and the stiff uphill test.
Royal Salute heads over chase fences for the first time for the yard. He had an unlucky season last year and he wont he can put that behind him.
Moving forward to next week, we have Samba time and Onderun entered for Ayr and both runs are ground dependant.
We had a successfully Owners Day is September which saw most owners visit the ‘new look’ yard with its brand-new concrete, wood cladded tack room and horse walker addition. We had a lovely BBQ and drinks till late in the byre, with some welcome heat from the log burning pig! Thanks to all of our helpers and owners for coming.
